The industry is seeing another significant shift in high-output color technology. Aputure has officially unveiled the STORM CS32, a point-source LED that aims to replace traditional 4K HMI units while offering full-spectrum color control.
This fixture is built around the new BLAIR-CG light engine, which adds Cyan and Green emitters to the existing Blue, Lime, Amber, Indigo, and Red mix. The result is a more complete spectral output that reaches a claimed 105,300 lux at 3 meters (with a medium reflector).

Key Technical Specifications
- Color Range: An expansive 1800K to 20,000K CCT range.
- Color Accuracy: Features +/- 100% Green/Magenta adjustment, meeting the full ASC MITC standard.
- Output: Designed to rival a 4K HMI in brightness.
- Weight: The lamp head weighs 37.5 lbs, significantly lighter than the XT52 or Evoke 5000B, allowing for single-person operation.
- Mounting: Uses the Aputure Mount, making it compatible with existing XT52 accessories and the motorized Fresnel.

Power Intelligence
The CS32 includes an intelligent power-sensing system. When plugged into a standard 120V household outlet, the fixture automatically draws the maximum safe power for that circuit. Moving to a high-output circuit or generator allows the light to unlock an additional 25% of its output potential.
This fixture represents a move toward high-output heads that do not require a massive crew to rig or a tow-behind generator to power.
